The Minister of Education, Mahuja Gorday de Villalobos, assured this morning that more than 950,000 students from the public and private sectors will return to face-to-face classes this March 7, after more than two years of virtual and blended learning.
Gorday de Villalobos explained that there are 8,400 students who will be in the public sector, while enrollment in the private sector is 135,000 students.
He said that they already have the new health standards to provide biosafety care in educational centers, higher technical institutes and universities, pointing out that this is a risk management tool.
For his part, the Vice Minister of Infrastructure of the Ministry of Education, Ricardo Sánchez, said that the priority a year and a half ago was not to repair the schools, but to end the pandemic. Reason why 3% of educational centers will not start classes this March 7.
Recently, the Ombudsman, Eduardo Leblanc, called on Deputy Minister Sánchez to get his act together with the repair of schools that are in poor condition with just three days left before the return to classes in person.
