The labor reform continues to be discussed in the Congress of the Republic. For this Tuesday, the plenary session of the House of Representatives gave continuity to the legislative process of this initiative of the National Government.
For this day, a total of 10 itemsmeaning that, to date, A total of 66 have been approved, that is, more than 80% of the articleswhile only three have been eliminated. Those who managed to pass the exam, with endorsed propositions, were:
– Art 7: due labor disciplinary process.
– Art 10: reinforced job stability.
– Art 34: training program for rural work.
– Art 35: family and community work
– Art 36: protection of rural and peasant female work
– Art 62: guarantees of the right of union association.
– Art 63: summary judicial procedure for the protection of union rights.
– Art 64: complementary measure to the statutes.
– Art 65: equal and/or proportional representation in organizations.

Meanwhile, the article 66which talks about the regulation of collective agreements, was approved as it was in the text of the reform.

Meanwhile, the articles of the proposition that failed to pass were the following:
– Art 8: compensation for dismissal without just cause. Amend article 64 of the Substantive Labor Code.
– Art 68: scope of the decision. Amend article 458 of the Substantive Labor Code.
– Art 74: Add a paragraph to article 186 of the Substantive Labor Code.
Now it remains to deliberate on a last block of articles of the reform: 22, 23, 31, 32, 33, 49, 50, 52, 60, 61, 67, 79 and 80. They will be debated next October 16 so that it continues its process in Commission VII of the Senate of the Republic.
