More than 700 packages of drugs seized in the Pearl Islands

Some 710 packages of alleged illicit substance and a speedboat were seized on Galera Island, Las Perlas Archipelago.

The operation was carried out by the National Air and Naval Service in coordination with the Panamanian Air and Naval Operations Center (CROAN), who reported that the occupants of the boat, realizing the presence of the uniformed officers, began to flee, firing detonations against the air and naval vessels. , but when they were overwhelmed they jumped into the sea, leaving the boat without control.

Once the aeronavals manage to secure the boat, they realize that it was carrying 35 bags. The Search and Rescue of the occupants of the boat began immediately and the transfer of the merchandise to the CF DEM Noel A. Rodríguez Naval Base was coordinated with the Panamanian Drug Prosecutor’s Office.

During the period from 2022 to date, the National Aeronaval Service, through the execution of 81 operations, has achieved the total seizure of 60,083 packages of illicit substances.
