More than 70 thousand delegates will participate in the installation of the National Congress of the Popular Constituent Process of the Working Class, announced the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, during the Great March for the 166 years of the Battle of Santa Inés, in which he called for the unity, bravery and loyalty of the Venezuelan people in the face of current challenges.
In that sense, he highlighted that the different social sectors are advancing strongly in their organizational processes: “The popular constituent process of youth, teachers, and women is going from strength to strength and will have an impressive result.”
In his speech, the head of state evoked historical figures of the resistance and reaffirmed the country’s combative spirit: “It is not the time for cowards, for the faint-hearted, it is not the time for Santander, it is not the time for Páez, it is not the time for Juan José Flores, it is the time for Simón José Antonio de la Santísima Trinidad Bolívar Palacios Ponte y Blanco, it is the time for Guaicaipuro, it is the time for Negro Primero because in these challenges of history, as our soldiers say of the FANB, doubting is treason, always loyal, never traitors.”
He highlighted that, in the midst of external threats, the Venezuelan people have responded with determination and deep love for the country. “In the midst of the threats of planes, missiles, ships, what these people have done is draw from their hearts the greatest love and passion for our land and a giant has awakened, the giant of the Venezuelan popular constituent process, with hundreds of proposals that go to action and from action to results,” he stated.
“Guarantee the victory of peace. How is the victory of peace guaranteed? By betraying the people, Bolívar, Chávez? It is guaranteed with courage, loyalty, strategy, plans and mobilizing the immense power that is only in the sovereign people, in the territory and on foot,” he reflected.
Finally, President Maduro reiterated that “it is not a time for hesitation or cowardice. It is a time for courage, combat and construction of this Venezuelan Homeland.”
