Saint Barbara. As part of the President’s pledge Luis Abinader To guarantee Dominicans the enjoyment of a home, property or space in which to live happily and safely, during his administration, 50,143 property title certificates have been delivered.
The information was released by the president of the State Land Titling Executing Technical Unit, Mérido Torres, during the act in which President Abinader delivered a first batch of 200 property titles out of a total of 437, at the sports center of Santa Bárbara, Samaná, as part of the National Titling Plan.
The president stated that with the delivery of the titles there is only justice and benefits and pointed out that delivering property titles is an action of social justice, economic development, quality of life that has all the benefits of a public policy.
«Without the work and day-to-day dedication of the Government, this does not work out. Today we have more than 400 titles, we are going to deliver about 200 today because the others were not located and have some difficulties, but in reality there are almost 900 titles around the city of Samaná that have this difficulty and which we are working on,” he said. Abinader.
He added that the delivery of property titles has a great meaning, because this assures the beneficiaries that this is their property and no person will come to take advantage of it.
“This means today that you are going to be able to sleep more peacefully and calmly in your homes and this, as Mérido said, can only be achieved with the support of a government that today is not doing you a favor, that today is doing justice in Samaná. », he highlighted.
In addition, President Abinader said that other works are being carried out in Samaná but today’s one brings justice, tranquility, peace and economic development to more than 400 families in this first stage and later in a second stage, to some 800.

The governor expressed that he decided to deliver these titles today, December 23, one day before Christmas Eve, to bring joy to these families of Villa Salma, La Mezcla and El Millón, who had been waiting for years for this to be the Government’s Christmas gift to this municipality of Samaná.
Meanwhile, the president of the State Land Titling Executing Technical Unit, Mérido Torres, indicated that the Samaná titling project will benefit a total of 437 families, who he assured that they are already the legal and definitive owners of their homes and plots.
Likewise, Torres said that the property titles, a process that was fully assumed by the Dominican government, saved the beneficiaries a total of RD$34 million 960 thousand pesos.
He added: “If they had carried out the work individually, each property would have paid a minimum of RD$ 80,000.00, making it clear that this amount is for small-footage plots.”
More beneficiaries in 2023
Torres reported that the Titling Commission has a total of 81,350 results in process and they have already identified a total of 52,680 results throughout the national territory to work on in the first months of next year.
“President, if we do a simple mathematical sum of the last two amounts, we can say that we already have 134,030 resulting that will become property titles and that together with you we will be delivering in the next year,” he said.
During the ceremony, they received their final titles from President Abinader, Julián Emilio Bodden De La Cruz, Tomasa De Los Santos, George Winston Anderson, Jorge Pereyra Rosario, Xiomara Devers Roustand, Marcelo De Jesús Encarnación Lantigua, Martin Ureña Zalazar, José Antonio Luis and Margarita Alcalá Shephard.
On behalf of the graduates, Francisco Virgilio Mercado de Peña spoke, thanking the president for the delivery of property titles to the inhabitants of Samaná, who, according to what he said, will now be able to celebrate Christmas merry.
“For us it was a utopia, it was a lie and the president has told us that here are his Samanense titles, my promise is fulfilled,” said Mercado de Peña.
President Abinader was accompanied by the Administrative Minister of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza; the directors of National Assets and CEA, Rafael Burgos; from the Dominican Agrarian Institute, Francisco Guillermo García and from the National Cadastre, Héctor Pérez Mirambeaux.
Also, the general administrator of Banco Agrícola, Fernando Durán; the governor of the Province of Samaná, Teodora Múlix Geraldino and the mayor of the municipality of Samaná, Nelson Núñez.
