More than 50,000 homes from different districts of the Buenos Aires suburbs and some neighborhoods of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires suffered different power cuts in the networks of the providers Edenor and Edesur during the afternoon of this Friday when the thermal sensation exceeded 38 degrees.
According to the website of the National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE), at 4:20 p.m. a total of 48,829 Edesur users and 3,418 Edenor users remained without supply.
In the Edesur concession area, among the most affected towns in Buenos Aires were Avellaneda (8,161), Ezeiza (5,426), Esteban Echeverría (4,941) and Berazategui (4,423); while in the City of Buenos Aires it registered the highest number of interruptions in the neighborhoods of Retiro (1,576) and Parque Patricios (1,323).
In the Edenor concession area, Among the most affected towns in Buenos Aires was San Isidro (1,542); while in the City of Buenos Aires there were more interruptions in the neighborhoods of Palermo (86) and Belgrano (34).
For users in the concession area of For Edesur, the estimated service restoration times range between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., while for the Edenor area they are estimated between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m..

Through a statement published on its Twitter social network account, Edesur stated that “due to a deficit in electricity generation, the system operator asked us to temporarily interrupt supply to 180,000 customers until the power shortage is gradually restored. ”.
In the same thread of posts, the company stated: “in the meantime, at 1:45 p.m. we had a historical demand record in our concession area that reached 4181 MW, according to data from CAMMESA”.
