More than 500 thousand people benefited from low-cost food sales at the six Christmas of Change Fairs with Inespre that were held in Azua, San Cristóbal, Santo Domingo Este, Los Alcarrizos, Distrito Nacional and Santiago, by order of the Presidency of the Republic.

Attendees had access to more than 50 products and two special combos such as pork legs for $1,500, half a leg for $850, a 25-pound bag of select rice for $600, a 10-pound bag for $250, chickens for $150, a carton of eggs 30 units at $120, bananas at $3 and bananas at $2; as well as a wide variety of sausages, apples, pears, wines, watermelons and all kinds of vegetables.

Also food combos of 12 products at $650 and five varieties of seasonings at $200; as well as contests with prizes, music, animations, a Christmas forest for photos and other amenities.

Iván Hernández Guzmán, director of the entity, thanked the Dominicans for coming en masse to the Christmas of Change Fairs with Inespre to buy their food for Christmas, expressing their support for the products and services offered by the institution.

Hernández Guzmán highlighted the support of the President of the Republic Luis Abinader for the holding of these fairs, as well as his work in supporting the Dominican countryside with various initiatives, guaranteeing the supply of food to the population.

“Today we have a country that is planted, that has a record production of eggs, chickens, rice, bananas and other products. We Dominicans can sit at the table and know that we have safe food, institutions such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have said that undernourishment in the Dominican Republic has decreased from 8.7 percent to 4.7 percent. In just four years, we are the second country that has achieved this in the entire world,” said the official.

These fairs concluded this weekend in the central park of Santiago and included the participation of the senator of that province, Daniel Rivera; the regional manager, Randy Rodríguez; in the provincial manager, José Nelson Billini; the deputy director of the area, Nelson Marte and other authorities.

Daniel Rivera reported that Inespre has become a healthy meeting with the population with the sales of vegetables, fruits, proteins and that all these foods combined in a natural way facilitate greater health and longevity.

Visitors to the fairs thanked the Presidency of the Republic and Inespre for this initiative and called on the authorities to hold food sales of this magnitude on various dates of the year.

Attendees also had free access to Omsa transportation, cooked food from the Economic Kitchens, affiliation to the Senasa health insurance, and Reserve Bank services; as well as products from Codopesca, Baltimore Dominicana (BALDOM), MercaSID, Industrias Banilejas (INDUBAN), Grupo Alonzo, Productos del Cerro, RJ Rafael Núñez, Dulces Yohanny Cornielle, Productos de Pelo Eridania, Helados Alkay, among others.
