The salary increase for more than 498,000 public sector workers, it will begin to govern at the level of five labor regimes as of Sunday, January 1 of the coming year, in accordance with Supreme Decree 311-2022-EF.
In this regard, the MEF reported that the aforementioned increase “has a remunerative nature, is of a pensionable nature, is subject to social charges and constitutes the calculation basis for the corresponding labor benefits.”
In accordance with the norm, the salary increase will be applied to those who have a monthly income of up to S/15,600. However, the aforementioned decree specifies that “in the event that the total monthly income that includes the increase approved in the preceding table exceeds S/15,600, the amount of the monthly increase is adjusted to said limit.”
Who benefits
The beneficiaries of this measure will be the officials, managers and servers of the labor regimes of legislative decrees No. 728 and No. 1057 (administrative contracting of services or CAS). Those in the first group will have an increase of S/51.11 per month, while those in the CAS regime will receive an additional S/64.19.
The norm will also enter into force for those who work under the Civil Service Law (Law No. 30057) and for those who work under the Law of the Special Public Penitentiary Career (Law No. 29709). In these cases, workers will additionally receive S/52.21 and S/55.67. This last amount will also be the increase that State personnel hired under the Law of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic (Law No. 28091) will receive.
Through a statement, the MEF specified how much the increase in wages will cost the State. “The cost of the monthly increase in workers’ remuneration that has been approved represents a total annual cost that amounts to S / 405.22 million, for a total of 498,696 beneficiaries,” he reported.
