It is an ultra-portable equipment, with advanced technology that will make it possible to reach a greater number of people and ensure a quality diagnosis, which will allow evaluating the probability of suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis.
The radiography equipment will be used in the search for presumptive cases of TB in the population, through the use of Digital Rx and analysis with Artificial Intelligence software.
Having this technology will make it possible to assess the probability of suffering from pulmonary tuberculosis, and then proceed to take a sputum sample to be analyzed by geneXpert.
“With the implementation of this equipment, it will be guaranteed to reach a greater number of people, ensure a quality diagnosis, allowing timely initiation of treatment for cure,” says the Program.
It is the second team with these characteristics that the National Tuberculosis Program has, through which screening actions can be duplicated, which are carried out by the TB Screening team, made up of doctors, graduates in nursing and graduates in Radiology. These screening activities are carried out in all health regions of the country.
The team was received within the framework of the project “Comprehensive care of tuberculosis in Paraguay”. The delivery of the equipment, as a donation, was possible with the support of the World Fund, through ALTER VIDA.
