More than 4.2 million passengers passed through Tocumen in the first quarter of 2023

The Tocumen International Airport processed during the first quarter of this year more than 4.2 million passengers. During the month of March, 1,468,648 travelers were mobilized.
Raffoul Arab, General Manager of Tocumen International Airport, indicated: “We are showing robust competitiveness in relation to other airports in the region. If the economic, health and social conditions are maintained, we can project an operating performance higher than that of 2019.”
Destinations and markets
Regarding international connections, in March Tocumen maintained direct routes to 83 destinations, through 17 commercial airlines that offer services to the main cities in America and Europe.
The March results indicate that of the total number of passengers who used the Tocumen terminal, 81% were connecting passengers. In addition, 11,923 aircraft movements were managed.
According to the data provided by the Statistics Department of the Tocumen International Airport, the markets that contributed the most passengers to transit through the Tocumen international airport were South America with 44%, followed by North America with 28%, the Caribbean 11%, while Central America contributed 11%, and European markets contributed a 6% share.
Regional terminals and cargo.
Regarding the cargo terminal, they have mobilized 48,610 metric tons of merchandise during the first quarter of 2023. During the month of March, 18,720 metric tons were mobilized.

On the other hand, the regional terminals Panamá Pacífico, Enrique Malek, Scarlett Martínez and Enrique A. Jiménez, managed by Tocumen, SA registered a traffic of 203,282 passengers during the first quarter of this year. During the month of March, 64,893 passengers and 2,231 aircraft operations were mobilized.

Among the regional terminals, Panama Pacifico registered the highest movement with 30,565 passengers processed. While the domestic terminal that operates in Terminal 2 processed 16,370 passengers.
