Likewise, due to the royalties generated by the mining and energy sector, the department of Nariño contributed more than $ 3,520 million to subsidize users the cost of building internal networks and connections for beneficiary families.
“The entry into operation of this project is an example of how the royalties generated by the mining-energy sector are converted into works that transform the lives of Colombian households and contribute to closing gaps in the regions. In addition, we are contributing to improving the quality of life and health of these families, who now have cleaner fuel in their homes for cooking food”, Assured the Vice Minister of Energy, Miguel Lotero.
The project was developed by the gas company INS and includes the construction of a LPG storage station in the municipalities and more than 102 kilometers of pipeline that allow to carry the LPG service through networks to each of the houses, efficiently , comfortable and safe.
“We reached regions of the country that, due to their distance from the gas pipelines, did not have the availability of gas service through the network. It is very gratifying to see how we have contributed to improve the quality of life of Nariño families with a safe, quality and continuous public service, even in times of crisis. In addition, this service is cheaper compared to LPG in cylinder and electric power, becoming a source of energy that promotes economic reactivation and sustainable growth in the region.“, assured Fabio Augusto Santos, manager of INS SA ESP
In the department of Nariño, the INS company is also developing another project to bring the LPG service through networks to 23,402 families from strata 1 and 2 of the municipality of Ipiales.
