More than 320,000 vehicles will leave Bogotá on the 'Asunción de la Virgen María' holiday bridge

“For this bridge we expect the departure and arrival of thousands of drivers, it is for this reason that together with the Sectional of Transit and Transport of Bogotá We have prepared a special mobility device to ensure road safety for drivers,” said Felipe Ramírez, Secretary of Mobility.

For this reason, both the monitoring of the city’s entrances and exits, as well as the measurement of average speeds and vehicle volumes, will be done from the Traffic Management Center (CGT) of Bogotá. From there, the Mobility secretary will inform about the state of the main roads of the city through the Twitter accounts @BogotaTransito and @SectorMovilidad .

In addition to this, the National Policethrough the Sectional of Transit and Transport of Bogotáwill have 113 soldiers at checkpointslocated on the main entry and exit routes, to carry out control tasks, accident prevention and speed up traffic.

In the same way, the District Administration remember that the Holiday Monday August 15the entry of travelers in private vehicles to Bogotá will be carried out with the Peak and Regional Plate restrictions which is implemented in the main nine entrance corridors to the city.

We recommend, whenever possible, an early return to Bogotá to avoid traffic congestion on Monday,” Ramírez added.

It is important to bear in mind that for drivers coming from the south of the country who enter through the Municipality of Soacha There will be Pico y Placa on Monday as follows: from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm vehicles with plates ending in an even number may enter and between 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm cars with odd plates.

Thus, the Ministry of Mobility recommends that citizens plan their trips and remember that other entrance corridors such as Calle 13 and Calle 80.
