More than 300,000 people would be left without pensions if CSS officials are increased

The national executive director of Finance and Administration of the Social Security Fund (CSS), Félix Camargo, assured that the salary claims of some major worker unions would put at risk the contribution that the Administration program has made annually to the Fund of Disability, Old Age and Death (IVM) in the last three years.

He assured that these aspirations would mean “a considerable increase in the institution’s payroll, which would be around 63.4 million balboas.”

He revealed that the Administrative Management program has transferred B/.380 million to the IVM Fund, being a fundamental source of financing the program through which the payment of pensions is guaranteed.

He added that increasing salaries would result in a significant affectation and the impossibility of maintaining the contribution to the payment of pensions and retirements to more than 300,000 people.
