More than 300 pets will be available for adoption at an event in SP

Brazil has around 30 million abandoned domestic animals

Next Saturday (24), the city of São Paulo will make more than 300 pets available for adoption at the event “New Beginnings: a new year, a new home”, which will be held at the Municipal Adoption Center, in the Santana neighborhood.More than 300 pets will be available for adoption at an event in SP

In addition to adopting pets, the public will be able to find out about basic care and how to responsibly care for animals. According to the Municipal Health Department, all animals at the event are neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, identified with a chip and with a General Animal Registry (RGA).

Anyone who decides to adopt a pet must bring a carrier in the case of adopting cats, or a collar with a leash in the case of adopting dogs. It is also necessary to pay a fee of R$35.80, be over 18 years old, present a photo ID and proof of recent residence.

Furthermore, the event allows visitors who adopt a dog or cat over 8 years of age and who live in the capital to have access to the Cuida Bem Idoso card. It allows priority and lifelong care in any of the four public veterinary hospitals, located in the north, east, south and west zones.

Those who cannot attend the event on Saturday can attend the Municipal Adoption Center, which remains open for visits from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9am to 3pm, except holidays.

The city hall action this Saturday will be in Santana, at Rua Santa Eulália, number 86, from 9am to 5pm.
