The Public Ministry registered 255,129 complaints filed in 2022. The most reported punishable acts were Aggravated Theft, Family Violence and Theft, Threat, Exposure in Traffic, Injury and Damage. The areas with the most complaints were Central, Asunción, Alto Paraná, Itapúa and Caaguazú.
In the year 2022, a total of 255,129 causes admitted that include Asunción and 17 Departments of the Eastern and Western Regions of the Paraguayan territory, according to the Complaints Offices at the country level.
In addition, according to the records, an average of 21,260 cases per month and 708 punishable acts per dayon average.
The Departments that recorded the most punishable acts are Central with 88,716, Asunción 40,073, Alto Paraná with 28,499 cases, Itapúa 14,789 and Caaguazú with 14,762 cases.
In 2022, the most denounced punishable acts were Aggravated Theft, Family Violence and Theft, Aggravated Robbery, Threat, Exposure to Danger in land transit, Injury, Damage, Breach of Legal Duty and Fraud.
The most reported punishable act in 2022 was Aggravated Theft with 12% of the open cases, followed by Family Violence with 11.4% and Theft with 11.3%.
On the other hand, 5.7% of the cases initiated this year correspond to Aggravated Robbery and 3.8% to Threat.
They are followed by Exposure to Hazard in land transit (3.8%) Injury 3.3% Damage 3.2%. In this way, Non-compliance with the Legal Food Duty (3.8%) and Fraud (2.9%) of the total cases filed are also recorded.
