More than 30 women present complaints for violation of their rights before the Ombudsman

A total of 33 complaints were filed in 2022 with the Directorate for the Protection of Women’s Rights, of the Ombudsman’s Office, revealed Alessandra Chena, director of this agency during the celebration of “Empowered Women’s Day” organized by the Federation of Women Writers and Public Relations (FEMUPERP).

According to Chena, activities such as those programmed by FEMUPERP highlight the importance of women’s rights and female empowerment is very important, as it has evolved significantly over the years in our country and we have great professionals from different fields here today.

FEMUPERP made an important recognition and distinction to professional women from various sectors of the country, outstanding professionals in multiple areas, during the commemoration of the Fiftieth Fair of Flowers and Coffee in Boquete.

Among the distinguished ladies who received medals and scrolls for their career in the Society were: Dora Beatriz Bozzi, Sandra Cornejo, Elyzabeth de Saval, Eisilyn Guadalupe Corella, Melisa Batista, Ana Lucia Soto, Malvina Moreno de Sánchez, Iris Buenavides, Abdialys Moreno , Corella Folk Foundation, Melva Quintero, Ana Gabriela Ortíz and Jazmín Jimenez.

The Ombudsman’s Office, through its Directorate for the Protection of Women’s Rights, indicated that it will give various talks at the national level to help raise awareness and promote women’s rights.
