Some 3,000 thousand vehicles loaded with food from the province of Chiriquí, bound for the capital city and Colón, have been escorted by units of the National Police, to guarantee food security in this place.
The legumes and vegetables, as well as the green bananas, mostly from the highlands, remained for hours inside the trucks, many of them refrigerated, which were trapped by the closure of the streets that a group of protesters maintained along the road. which, once cleared, were safely escorted to their destination.
Meanwhile, in the province of Veraguas, specifically on the bridge in the district of Santiago, indigenous leaders from the Ngäbe Buglé region have reiterated that they will remain vigilant in this area and have assured that as a sign of goodwill they will not block the way to vehicles that They go to the city and the interior of the country.
