The units of the Security Forces, together with personnel from the Public Ministry, have carried out attacks against organized crime in recent weeks, developing anti-gang proceedings, managing to bring more than 260 gang members before the courts of justice.
These operations were carried out in the sectors of Viejo Veranillos, Colón, San Miguelito and in the province of Chiriquí, also achieving the confiscation of firearms, illicit substances and money.
The Security Minister, Juan Manuel Pino, pointed out that these operations have given positive results not only through anti-gang operations, but also through money laundering.
Operation Donqueo that took place in Santa Librada, San Miguelito district, resulted in the capture of 12 gang members, 2 firearms and retail substances were seized; in the anti-gang and anti-money laundering PTY Operation, also carried out in the district of San Miguelito and Santa María in Costa del Este, resulted in the capture of 11 people, 8 confiscated firearms and more than 32 seized thousand 487 dollars.
In the capital city, Operation Transfer was carried out against the Economic Order, 20 people were apprehended, 2 weapons were confiscated and 37 technological equipment that was used for credit card fraud was seized.
Operation Nardicht, against Common Crime, was carried out in the provinces of Panama, Coclé, Chiriquí, Bocas, Colón, Panama Oeste and Herrera; resulting in the apprehension of 24 people linked to homicides and other crimes, 2 vehicles were recovered and illegal substances were confiscated.
In more than 20 search proceedings, against a gang calling itself Black Time – Niños de Siria – VC, which operates in the province of Colón, 14 people were apprehended, of them; 12 presumed active members of this gang and 2 for drug crimes.
The raids were carried out simultaneously in the sectors of Villa del Caribe, Salsipuedes, Altos de Las Acacias, Altos de Los Lagos and La Feria. This criminal group is accused of crimes of homicide, personal injury, drugs, armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
During the proceedings, illegal substances, digital scales, packaging elements, technological equipment and cash were seized.
