The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that until Tuesday, November 22, the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 with at least one dose amounts to 26,837,042. Meanwhile, the total number of citizens vaccinated with two doses is 25,763,580 until 6:00 a.m.
Likewise, the number of citizens who received the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine amounts to 20,963,777. While with the fourth dose, 5’724,505 inoculated people are reported.
So far, Peru has received more than 26 million vaccines from Sinopharm, more than 49 million from Pfizer, more than 10 million from AstraZeneca, and more than four million from Moderna. All these are applied according to the programming by age groups established by the Government after inoculating with priority health personnel, older adults and members of the National Police, Armed Forces and Firefighters.
Both the Sinopharm and Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines must be applied in two doses to vaccinate a person against COVID-19.
The vaccination process in Peru began on February 9, 2021, in the main health centers in Lima and Callao. New vaccination plan
The Government established that a new vaccination plan against COVID-19 will begin on April 16, 2021, with the aim of vaccinating older adults first.
For this, the Executive implemented the I Put the Shoulder platform, so that people can know the location, date and time they will be vaccinated against the coronavirus (COVID-19).
From September 25, 2022, children under 5 years of age are vaccinated (from 6 months to 4 years and 11 months and older). For this population group, the inoculation was implemented in the regions as of Monday, September 26.
To date, the third dose is placed in people 5 years and older. Likewise, the fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine is applied to people over 18 years of age.
