Financial support for primary and secondary families
In the context of returning to school, Mario Delgado announced that, upon instructions from the President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardodirect annual support of 2,500 pesos will be granted per primary school student, from first to sixth grade, corresponding to the 2026–2027 school year. The objective is to support families in expenses for school supplies and uniforms.
For this program, informational assemblies will be held during February at each public primary school.
Likewise, he recalled that since January 5, the delivery of Banco del Bienestar cards corresponding to the Rita Cetina Universal Scholarship began, intended for 1 million 53 thousand 215 public high school students. This support consists of 1,900 pesos every two months per family, plus an additional 700 pesos for each high school student who is part of it.
The secretary stressed that these actions seek to strengthen the family economy and reduce the economic barriers that may affect the permanence of girls and boys within the National Educational System.
High School and High School have already resumed activities
Delgado Carrillo explained that the Higher Secondary Education and Higher Education communities resumed classes from January 5, according to the calendars of each institution.
At the high school level, almost 5.5 million students returned to classes in 21.1 thousand schools, with the support of 421.1 thousand teachers.
Meanwhile, in higher education (undergraduate and postgraduate), just over 5.6 million students in 11.7 thousand schools resumed activities, with the support of 529.2 thousand teachers.

In total, more than 34.5 million students and almost 2.2 million teachers, distributed in 264.5 thousand educational centers of the three educational types, resumed school activities in the country.
The SEP recalled that the 2025-2026 school year will conclude on July 15, 2026marking the closing of a key period for public education in Mexico.
