More than 200 artists from 17 countries will participate in the international event “Photographic November” in Havana

More than 200 lens artists from 17 countries will participate in the 19th edition of the international event Photographic November, which will open on November 1 in Havana, with exhibitions in various spaces in the Cuban capital.

Convened by the Photo Library of Cuba, the meeting will take place under the slogan “Keep looking in places where there is nothing.”

According to Latin Pressthe international event has a renewed and diverse program, exhibitions, colloquiums, tributes and collective projects that celebrate the richness and diversity of contemporary photography.

According to the organizers, 128 Cuban photographers and 74 foreigners have confirmed their participation.

In that sense, professionals from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Canada, Colombia, Spain, France, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Italy, Japan, Venezuela, Germany, Mexico, Uruguay and Ecuador will attend the event.

Photographic November in Havana

21 invited artists and 14 collective projects will join the event, while the provinces of Pinar del Río, Matanzas, Camagüey and Guantánamo will participate with outstanding proposals.

During a press conference, photographer Lissette Solórzano, director of the Photo Library of Cuba, explained that this edition will pay tribute to the 80 years of the United Nations Organization (UN) and the diplomatic ties between Cuba and Canada.

The program includes an exhibition dedicated to the Brazilian photographer and anthropologist Pierre Verger, which will be exhibited at Factoría Habana.

There will also be a colloquium at the Ludwig Foundation in tribute to the centenary of the Cuban master Raúl Corrales, one of the historical references of photography on the island.

Likewise, urban interventions will be carried out in the Plaza Vieja for the 506th anniversary of Havana and the digital program “Countdown” will be launched, with audiovisual capsules broadcast on social networks.

The event will also recognize the work of young talents, rewarding those views that make photography not only a profession, but a way of interpreting and transforming their environment.
