The president of the Committee of People Affected by Blackouts warned that there has been an exponential increase in blackouts. She added that the Andean states have also been greatly affected, but that Zulia is the entity that “has not come out of the reign” with the most failures in the entire territory.
López described the rationing that has been applied in some entities as “a disguise” to cover the deficiencies of the service. “It is simply and plainly to give legality to the blackouts and downturns because they should be in a block of four hours, but they are six, seven, eight hours. Once the supposed rationing ends, we register that it exceeds the number of hours that a state should be, according to the scheme that must be complied with, ”he added.
He explained that failures occur more frequently in Caracas, but more downturns than blackouts. “The parishes of San Juan, La Candelaria and El Recreo have many faults, but not at the levels we see in the interior, which can last up to six hours. In Caracas they can last half an hour, two hours, three hours. In Miranda we have many failures, but more occur in the El Hatillo and Baruta municipalities, ”he added.
