The first humanitarian flight of this year 2023, departed this Tuesday, from the Tocumen International Airport, to Venezuela, with 177 irregular migrants.
These migrants entered the country irregularly through the Darién jungle and returned to their country voluntarily.
This humanitarian flight was paid for by the National Government, according to the deputy director of the National Migration Service, María Isabel Saravia, who highlighted that of these 177 Venezuelan irregular migrants, half are children, adolescents, women and one pregnant woman. .
These migrants were at the Los Planes de Gualaca Temporary Immigration Reception Station, Chiriquí province.
“With this, we are providing protection to these people in a state of vulnerability, who were captured on the streets of different parts of the country, and who wanted to return to their places of origin,” said Saravia. He indicated that this measure assists people in vulnerable situations, respecting the human rights of the most vulnerable people.
