More than 17 million Brazilians already have the new National Identity Card (CIN). The balance was released this Monday (16) by the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services.
“The new National Identity Card reduces fraud, improves administrative records and qualifies access to digital public services, as it enables safer access (Gold account) to the more than 4,500 digital services available on Gov.br”, highlighted the folder.
In a note, the ministry reinforced that all Brazilians have until 2032 to exchange their document for their new identity, with the first copy being free. Currently, the CIN is issued in all Brazilian states. More information can be accessed at gov.br/identidade.
Digital public infrastructure
In the statement, the ministry said it plans to build a Digital Public Infrastructure (IPD) for civil identification with the aim of automating public services. “This IPD will use the CIN database and identification on digital media from Gov.br”.
“An IPD is a set of shared digital systems that must be secure and interoperable. These systems can be built based on open specifications and standards, to offer equitable access to public and private services on a social scale”, added the ministry.
The proposal is for Gov.br to start providing information, for example, about the National High School Exam (Enem) or how to obtain a driver’s license if the person accessing it is 18 years old. If you are an elderly person, the platform can inform you about retirement or the granting of benefits.
