What happens if I don’t pay the parking meter?
According to the 2024 Tax Code, the authorized rate for parking meters is 3.10 pesos for every 15 minutes. For the removal of immobilizer padlocks it is $312.00.
In case of violation of the use of parking meters, the fine for late payment or non-payment is equivalent to 5, 7 or 10 current measurement and update units (UMA), according to the Traffic Regulations of Mexico City. The UMA in 2024 is equivalent to 108.57 pesos per day.
Therefore, the fine can be 542.85, 759.99 or 1,085.7 pesos, if there are no other violations.
