A total of 1,098,521 doses of influenza vaccine have been administered through the Expanded Immunization Program (EPI) as of August 19, according to the Ministry of Health (Minsa).
According to the report, the Minsa administered 797,745 and the Social Security Fund’s clinics administered a total of 300,776.
The regions with the most doses applied are: Panama Metro with 205,104; Panama West with 143,251; Chiriquí with 125,947; Coclé with 97,594; Ngäbe Buglé region with 84,092 and Veraguas with 83,675.
The PAI reiterated that influenza vaccines are administered throughout the country from Monday to Friday, in the various Minsa and CSS health facilities; in addition, on weekends at authorized vaccination centers and shopping centers.
According to the latest report from the Epidemiology Department (No. 32) of the Ministry of Health, as of August 10, 82 deaths from influenza have been reported, so the authorities reiterate preventive measures.
