More rains are expected for Nicaragua due to the entry of a tropical wave

The Nicaraguan Institute for Territorial Studies (Ineter) reported that the rainy environment that has prevailed since Tropical Storm Bonnie, which affected the country a week ago, will continue due to the entry of two tropical waves.

Marcio Baca, director of Meteorology of the Ineter, explained that tropical wave number 14 entered Nicaragua through the Caribbean Coast of the country, this Monday, July 11; and he predicted that it will cause rains in almost the entire national territory.

He also explained that the rains on the Caribbean coast began to be felt in the morning hours, while the rainfall in the Pacific, central and northern areas of the country is expected to begin this afternoon or evening.

“This wave will pass through the country this Monday and will still leave influences tomorrow (Tuesday) in sectors of western Nicaragua and later the country will enter a low pressure waiting for tropical wave number 15 for Wednesday or Thursday of this week,” Baca told the official media.

He stressed that this meteorological event will cause rains in various parts of Nicaragua from Monday to Wednesday, July 13. For Thursday, conditions are expected to improve, which will allow rainfall to be more isolated, especially in various parts of the Caribbean area.

The specialist also reported that from this Monday high tide conditions are expected on the Pacific coast, which will increase over time and may reach 2.7 meters in height by this Friday.

He stressed that for the municipality of Corinto, in Chinandega, precautionary measures should be taken against the tides. “We only warn our fishermen to take the pertinent measures before going to sea in their fishing operations,” he said.

On the other hand, Marcio Baca indicated that the expected temperatures for the next few days are between 19 and 25 degrees throughout the country, and the maximum between 23 and 31 degrees, with the north of Nicaragua being the coolest area and the capital the hottest. .
