The general secretary of the Federation of Civil Construction Workers of Peru (FTCCP), Luis Villanueva Carbajal, reported that the social organizations will continue the protests and mobilizations demanding the resignation of President Dina Boluarte and immediate general elections.
“What has to be done is to obtain a resignation from Mrs. Dina Boluarte and in Congress a new Consensus Board of Directors has to be elected,” said the leader, specifying that the person who assumes the presidency must have acceptance in the citizenship, to guarantee democratic transition.
Villanueva described the current Boluarte regime as a “dictatorship” and questioned the lack of sensitivity of the president and a speech aimed at trying to deceive the citizenry.
“The president says that it is necessary to talk about water for the people, but in what remains of her government, she will not be able to give water or drainage to the 40% of the population that does not have it. She is deceiving people and therefore we insist on calling for her immediate resignation. The mobilizations and protests will continue, ”she said on the Regional Communication Network (RCR), stressing that the FTCCP will continue to accompany the protests called by the General Confederation of Peruvian Workers (CGTP).
Referring to the turnaround that Boluarte made in his government, Villanueva pointed out that we are facing a civic-military regime. “Unfortunately, the one who governs is not the traitor Dina Boluarte, but the right, through the premier (Alberto) Otárola.”
He also questioned the way in which the government decided to manage the social protest, through repression at the cost of human lives. “Nothing justifies the death of a Peruvian. So we hope that there will not only be investigations, but that there will be concrete sanctions and that Mrs. Boluarte ends up in jail”, she pointed out.
