One of every four credit card purchases is with the Now 12
One of four credit card purchases in the fourth quarter of last year was through the Now 12 program, whose use grew more than 20% in the 3 installment payment modality and climbed more than 60% in the 6 in form year-on-year, which marked a expansion in the consumption capacity of the people.
Measured by transactions, the use of now 3 grew 22.30% between October and last December compared to the same quarter of 2020, and in the case of now 6 the increase was 62.56% year-on-year.
If the composition by volume is taken, the modality in three payments went from representing 16.50% to 19.91% in one year; and that of six payments, grew from 15.76% to 25.37%.
On the other hand, the modalities now 24 Y now 30, in force since September of last year, reached shares of 2.03% and 0.25%, respectively.
While there was a decrease in the plans of 12 installments, from 48.33% to 38.33%; and from 18 from 19.41% to 13.62% in the last year.
Also measured by volume, the use of Now 12 in all its modalities (3, 6, 12, 18, 24 and 30 installments) increased from a 25.03% share in total credit card consumption in the third quarter from 2021, to 26.25% in the fourth.
This was specified by the Prism Means of Payment Index, which is prepared based on information from the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec), the Central Bank (BCRA), means of payment, digital wallets, card collection terminals, ATMs automatic, electronic payment of taxes and services, and transactions through commercial platforms.
The report also highlighted that in the third quarter of the year there was a growth in the use and number of credit cards, of 15.37% and 6.80% year-on-year, respectively.
“In the last quarter of 2021, there is a glimpse of growth compared to the previous year in the number of transactions with credit and debit cards,” said the Director of Institutional Relations of Prisma Means of Payment, Julián Ballarino.
He also pointed out that “debit card purchases already exceed 50% of the general volume”, and affirmed that “the participation of the ‘Now’ Plans remains stable”.
According to this indicator, in the fourth quarter, consumption with a debit card represented 45.98% of the volume of its use, a figure that was 3 percentage points higher than the 42.28% that it meant in the same period of 2020. , and also registered a year-on-year growth of 34.43% in the number of transactions.
