More electromobility projects emerge after fuel increase

Decarbonization in the Peruvian automotive fleet is on the right track. Electromobility in the world is advancing and Peru cannot be oblivious to it. One of the companies that has decided to take a big step forward is “CARGUI”, which has become the first Peruvian logistics distribution service company to invest in sustainable mobility and zero carbon emissions by acquiring a fleet of 100% electric vehicles. for transportation use in the country.

Although in Peru the energy transition of the transport system is very slow compared to Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Europe, Diego Caravedo G. (Founder & CEO), Alfredo Neuhaus RL (Corporate Director) and Federico Blume S. (Co -Founder & Director of Operations) are the national entrepreneurs who are in charge of “CARGUI” and who decided to join electro-sustainability in the country to make a positive impact in Peru against climate change.

“With this investment, CARGUI becomes a pioneer in the development of electro-sustainability in Peru, being the first company to manage last-mile logistics and logistics in general with 100% electric vehicles. There is currently no other company that is coming out with the charging service with one hundred percent electric units, the idea is to start with these first units to incorporate them into the retail world and reach a first batch of 25 units by the end of the year. We want to impact and make a change in the climate effect”, says the Founder & CEO of the Peruvian company, Diego Caravedo.

Caravedo affirms that with this initiative not only will a precedent be set in the care of the environment in Peru, but there will also be a medium-term economic benefit for the company. “Today Lima is a highly polluted city and we need to make some changes. We believe that one of the ways to positively impact the environment is by rethinking logistics through efficient and eco-friendly units”, he refers.

“There is definitely a positive impact on the cost compared to fuel, hydrocarbons have skyrocketed. We are talking about practically a tenth, compared to hydrocarbon and the operability allows you to work a unit that has a performance of 260 km per day, for example, with which there is a substantial benefit”, highlights Caravedo.

On the subject of electric recharging for this type of vehicle, the CEO of “CARGUI” explains that they have been very well advised for this great change and that it is much easier to charge the units than to find a fuel station. “There are many people who have mistrust of electromobility due to ignorance of the charging format and in reality it is much simpler because you can charge the units in your own maneuvering yard. We have made an investment with another strategic ally for charging points, to be able to have chargers in our maneuvering yard from where the units are one hundred percent supplied every day.”

“There are companies that are beginning to venture into the world of charging stations, as a result of this change that we are initiating, we also hope to influence and positively impact the world of transport so that they are encouraged in electromobility and charging stations, because this myth of the load, where do I get supplies? You can supply your units in your own home without any problem”, he highlights.

Diego Caravedo G. (Founder & CEO), Alfredo Neuhaus RL (Corporate Director) and Federico Blume S. (Co-Founder & Director of Operations) have as their main objective to make CARGUI “the best company in national and international logistics” and always “well focused on the customer’s requirement”.
