More classified documents found during search of Joe Biden’s residence

US Department of Justice (DoJ) officials found six other documents during a search of Joe Biden’s family residence in Delaware, the president’s personal lawyer said.

“The DoJ took possession of materials that you considered within the scope of your investigationincluding six (…) classified documents,” said the attorney, Bob Bauer.

The first classified documents were discovered in November at a think tank in Washington where Biden, then vice president of Barack Obama (2009-2017), had an office, and later at his family home in Wilmington, Delaware.

In all, a dozen documents were found dating to his time in the Senate and his tenure as vice president.

The issue is particularly uncomfortable for Biden, who is contemplating running for re-election in 2024.

A few days ago, during a trip to California, he tried to downplay the case.

“Listen, we found some documents (…) that were stored in the wrong place, we immediately handed them over to the Archives and the Ministry of Justice,” Trump told reporters.

Former President Donald Trump, who has already announced his presidential candidacy for the upcoming elections, is being investigated for taking several boxes with confidential documents to his residence in Florida.
