More and more millennial tourists are arriving in Peru, especially to visit Machu Picchu (PHOTOS)

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) recently published the document ‘Report on nature and adventure tourism in APEC economies’, which highlights the enormous potential that Peru has in these areas, as well as Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the United States and Hong Kong, a special administrative region of China.

According to studies and profiles prepared by the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperú), cited in the aforementioned report, tourists seeking nature and adventure activities They are mainly characterized by being millennials (52%), male (55%) and single (53%).

The document also mentions that the majority comes from the European Union, especially from France, Spain and Germany. The United States is also an important source country for this type of tourists.

It also indicates that a 52% of these travelers come to Peru just to visit Machu Picchu and 42% to learn about local culture and history.

DESTINATION FOR ADVENTURERS

The content shows the national territory as a destination with a long history in the practice of trekking and other outdoor activities, such as canoeing, which has been practiced in Lunahuaná since the 1990s, reported the head of the sector.
