Morales promised to give "a beating" to Macri if he competes in the internal ones

“He is the head of the PRO but not of radicalism,” Morales said in relation to Macri.

The governor of Jujuy and head of the UCR, Gerardo Moralesaffirmed this Sunday that “time has passed” for Mauricio Macri and he predicted that he will give him “a beating” if the former president appears in the PASO elections to compete for Together for Change (JxC) in the 2023 elections.

In addition, he warned that the former president “He is head of the PRO but not of radicalism or of the Civic Coalition” or of the opposition alliance.

Morales said that Macri “has every right to think and claim his second term, but I think it would not be convenient for the country; he has to have one more role of advising because of the experiences he has had when governing, he is going to help a lot from there”.

In an interview with Infobae, the governor of Jujuy also maintained that Macri “I am not going to retire him, he has every right to be a candidate, and I would like him to be a candidate so I can win him well, because I am going to beat him, I’m going to beat him up in the elections (STEP) if he’s a candidate.”

Morales maintained that the former president “is a leader and has an indisputable role within Together for Change, but time has passed and he has to leave space for other referents of his party, of radicalism, of other parties, where we will resolve our internal issues in the STEP”.

“I am not going to retire Macri, he has every right to be a candidate, and I would like him to be a candidate so I can beat him well, because I am going to beat him, I am going to beat him up in the elections.”Gerardo Morales

In this sense, he recognized that he is the leader “of the PRO, he is the head of the PRO”, but “He is not the head of Together for Change, obviously. He is not the head of radicalism or the Civic Coalition”he pointed out.

He considered then he should be out and “contribute from your experience” Well, “him, in government, there are things he could do and others he couldn’t, and management is like that. Sometimes one idealizes things and when he arrives, sometimes he can do them” and others not.

“I launched a great transformation in Jujuy, I made decisions,” Morales praised himself, admitting that Macri “did things and he left the ship sailing, we can’t deny him that“.

Asked if he had read the books that Macri wrote -“First time” and the most recent “What for”-, the governor said “I didn’t buy the previous one, I didn’t read it and I don’t know about this one. At some point, when I have time, I’ll read both volumes.”

In addition, he vindicated other central leaders of the PRO: “Patricia Bullrich Y Horacio Rodriguez Larreta, I like them both,” he emphasized.

As for the radical deputy Facundo Maneswho recently criticized the management of Macri and received reprimands from the UCR and from the PRO, he pointed out that “I haven’t talked to Facundo yet” and would do so “when the foam goes down a bit, because maybe he’s annoyed by this expression from the National Committee and I understand it.”

However, he stressed that “Facundo could be a good candidate for governor” of the province of Buenos Aires “since he fought it there, he would be good.”

“But I don’t want to drop him as a candidate for President, he’s already launched,” Morales said.
