Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) spoke on Tuesday (22) against the granting of amnesty for the convicts of the scammer acts of 8 January.
The minister’s statement was made during the reading of the vote that will decide whether six accused of core 2 of the coup plot will become defendants. He is the rapporteur of the processes.
Moraes questioned the reasons why so many people defend the amnesty and stated that one cannot forget the severity of the acts.
“People in good faith should reflect on this. If in my house, I would not admit they destroyed, use violence and serious threat to get me out of my house, why do I admit it to the country?” Asked the minister.

Alexandre de Moraes also renamed the accusations that he acts in the proceedings in the simultaneous condition of rapporteur, victim and judge.

“Here is an attack on democratic institutions. The attack narrated by the Attorney’s Office, based on the investigations of the Federal Police, is in the context of trying to obstruct the investigations started 3 years ago,” he said.
The minister explained that the attempted coup can also be punished.
“Crimes are not against life, attempted murder. It is an attempt to abolish the institutions, attempted coup d’état. Why is it punished to try the coup?
The accused are accused of crimes of armed criminal organization, attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup, damage qualified by violence and serious threat and deterioration of listed assets.
