The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Morares decided this Tuesday (26) to keep the plea bargain agreement of Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, Jair Bolsonaro’s former aide-de-camp, confidential.
According to the minister, the statements must remain confidential because there are ongoing investigations.
Last week, Moraes decided maintain the validity of the plea bargain agreement of the former aide-de-camp, who was called to testify after having denied in a statement to the Federal Police (PF) that he was aware of the coup plot to kill President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin and Alexandre de Moraes.
However, according to Operation Countercoup investigations, one of the coup plot meetings was held at General Braga Netto’s house, in Brasília, on November 12, 2022, and was attended by Mauro Cid.
During the testimony, the former aide-de-camp provided the requested clarifications, and the benefits of the plea bargain were maintained, including the right to respond to the accusations in freedom.
Last year, Cid signed a plea bargain agreement with the PF and committed to revealing the facts he became aware of during Bolsonaro’s government, such as the case of Saudi jewelry sales and fraud on the former president’s vaccination cards.
