Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), established this Friday (27) new determinations to allow the operation of the social network X in Brazil.Moraes charges R$10 million in fine to release X's return

In the decision, Moraes ordered the company to face a new fine of R$10 million. In addition, the minister also orders that lawyer Rachel de Oliveira Villa Nova pay a fine of R$300,000.

Yesterday (26), X’s lawyers asked the minister to release the platform after presenting the requested documents to prove the reactivation of representation in Brazil, in addition to appointing lawyer Rachel de Oliveira Villa Nova to act as the company’s legal representative in the country.

Last month, Moraes took the X off the air after the company closes its office in Brazil, a mandatory condition for any firm to operate in the country.

Billionaire Elon Musk, owner of the social network, announced the closure of company headquarters in Brazil after the network was fined for refusing to comply with the order to remove profiles of those investigated by the Court for publishing messages considered anti-democratic.

According to the decision, the fine of R$10 million refers to the non-compliance with decisions STF court proceedings on September 19th and 23rd, in which the platform was hosted on servers from the digital security company Cloudflare and allowed access to blocked content.

In the case of the lawyer, a fine of R$300,000 is also charged due to non-compliance with Moraes’ decisions. Rachel de Oliveira served as X’s representative in Brazil before the office in the country closed and returned to the role after Musk decided to reactivate the representation.
