THE Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Court (STF), authorized the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas, to visit former President Jair Bolsonaro at homewhere it meets house arrest, this Thursday (7). 
Other politicians were also allowed to visit Bolsonaro, always in Successive business days and between 10am and 18h. The former president meets the house arrest at his residence in Brasilia, in a condominium in the Jardim Botanico neighborhood.
THE Deputy Governor of the Federal District (DF), Celina Leão, will be able to visit this Friday (8); the businessman Renato de Araújo Corrêa, on Monday (11); and allied deputies Junio Amaral (PL-MG), Marcelo Moraes (PL-RS) and Luciano Zucco (PL-RS), respectively on August 12, 13 and 14.
All had requested authorization and received a approval of Bolsonaro’s defense, agreeing with the visits. In the case of Celina Leão, the deputy governor had asked to visit former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro, who lives with the former president and with whom she maintains friendship relationship.
On Wednesday (6), Moraes had already authorized Bolsonaro to receive the visit of children and grandchildren, among other family members, without the need for prior authorization from the Supreme.
Bolsonaro has been under house arrest since Monday (4), when Moraes imposed the measure after understanding that the former president violated the ban on using social networks through posts published in his children’s profiles – Carlos, Eduardo and Flávio.
On Wednesday night, Bolsonaro’s defense appealed from house arrest, arguing that he had no intention of breach of the precautionary. The lawyers said there was no evidence that the former president was aware of the posts made by his children.
In the appeal, the lawyers also claim that the publications made by the children conveyed only a greeting to supporters, which could not characterize a crime, under penalty of prohibiting any demonstration of the former president, which would characterize censorship. The defense also complained about what it said it was a “anticipation of serving penalty.”
First, the appeal must be analyzed by Moraes himself. In case of refusal, the request may be taken to the vote by the first class of the Supreme, a collegiate composed of four more ministers – Cristiano Zanin, Luiz Fux, Cármen Lúcia and Flávio Dino.
Bolsonaro is the target of several investigations in the Supreme. In the most advanced process, he is a defendant for an attempted coup d’état that he would have led to remain in power after electoral defeat, as reported by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR). The defense denies his participation in any coup plot.
