Moraes asks the PGR for a statement on the request for Torres’ release

Moraes schedules a new statement by Anderson Torres for February 2

The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, determined that the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) should comment on the request for the revocation of the arrest made by the defense of former Minister of Justice Anderson Torres, arrested since the day January 14th.Moraes asks the PGR for a statement on the request for Torres' release

Torres’ defense requests the freedom of the former minister and former secretary of Public Security of the Federal District and argues that there are no reasons for him to remain in prison.

Anderson Torres is accused of omitting and facilitating the anti-democratic acts that took place in Brasília on January 8, which resulted in the invasion and depredation of the Planalto Palace, the National Congress and the STF.

Torres’ situation was complicated after the Federal Police found, in his home, a draft of a state of defense decree to be fulfilled at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). Torres says he doesn’t know who wrote the document.
