Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) determined on Thursday (31) that the Attorney General of the Union (AGU) takes action to ensure the extradition of federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP).
The measure was taken after the supreme was officially communicated on the arrest of the parliamentarian. “Official to the Attorney General of the Union to accompany and adopt the appropriate and necessary measures related to the defendant’s extradition process,” the minister determined.
On Tuesday (29), Zambelli was arrested in Rome, Italywhere he tried to escape the fulfillment of an arrest warrant issued by Moraes.
For having double citizenship, Zambelli left Brazil in search of political asylum in Italian lands after be sentenced by the Supreme Court to ten years in prison for the invasion of the Electronic System of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), which occurred in 2023. The deputy will also have to take $ 2 million in collective damage.

According to the investigations, Zambelli was the intellectual author of the invasion to issue a false arrest term against Alexandre de Moraes. According to investigations, the hacking was performed by Walter Delgatti, who was also convicted and confirmed that he had done the work at the behest of the parliamentarian.
After the escape to Italy, the Brazilian government requested the extradition of the deputy to Brazil.

Carla Zambelli’s extradition request was made official on June 11 by Minister Alexandre de Moraes. Then the request was sent by Itamaraty to the Italian government.
The document contains the copy of the deliberation that condemned the parliamentarian and the articles of the Penal Code that substantiated the decision.
“Mrs. Carla Zambelli Salgado de Oliveira, freely, consciously and voluntarily, commanded the invasion of institutional systems used by the judiciary, through planning, regimentation and command of a person with technical aptitude and necessary means to comply with such mister, with the end of adulting information, without express or tacit authorization of who by law,” says the text.
Moraes also indicated the guarantees that Brazil will give to Carla Zambelli if Italy authorizes extradition.
The minister pledged not to submit Zambelli the prison or proceedings by a fact prior to the extradition request; Do not impose perpetual penalty; Do not aggravate the penalty for political reasons and not submit to parliamentary to torture or inhuman or degrading treatments.
