The provincial prosecutor specialized in crimes of corruption of officials, Emilio Salas Apaza, indicated that there would be a poor selection process in the Regional Government of Moquegua for the purchase of 5,200 laptops for a value of S/ 19,507,488, since they would have omitted marks of trajectory on laptops, which is a risk and that there are currently observations for not complying with the terms of reference.

Salas Apaza indicated that the Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the contracting file and the supplier selection process, in which the winner was Grupo Megatec SRL, from Ayacucho and which was created shortly before the process. Jaime Delgado Llépez, who resigned a few days ago from his position as project resident, will also be summoned in the proceedings.
No payments should be made
Due to the alleged irregularities, Salas believes that the Moquegua Regional Government should not make any payment for the purchase of laptops, which have already been delivered to the regional entity. In this regard, the Comptroller’s Office warned that storage represents a risk, as they are not located in appropriate environments, and may be damaged and cause harm to the institution.

For his part, the general manager of Gore Moquegua, Abraham Ponce Sosa, said that the resignation of the resident is due to disagreements with some management of the entity. However, Fredy Fernández was appointed as a replacement. Regarding the anomalies, Ponce asserted that no payment has yet been made to the supplier and admitted that there is a risk that the laptops could be damaged inside the entity.
