Santiago. The Ministry of Public Works, together with the provincial government, presented Mayor Abel Martínez with the proposed solution at the entrance to Santiago.
The meeting between the Governor Rosa Santos, the Deputy Minister of Public Works, Nelson Colón and the regional director Alexis Sosa, resulted in the fact that days ago, the mayor stated that he did not agree with some aspects of the work that had to do with the structure of the heart at the entrance of Santiago, on the Autopista Duarte.
After the commission showed him the design of the work, Abel Martínez said he was pleased with what was presented, for which he stated that they will work together, so that what was agreed upon is fulfilled. Martínez valued and thanked the appropriate explanations given by the MOPC and for integrating it to work together in the renovation of the heart city.
“We have been talking about the entry of Santiago and it has seemed phenomenal, so we have agreed to work together, the important thing is to seek the best for this city of Santiago de los Caballeros and what we have tried and what we have seen is positive and we will be integrated in these works that the Ministry of Public Works is developing and that as a city council we are integrated to help”, said the mayor, who had opposed his intervention.
On her side, Rosa Santos, said that it is of great satisfaction that both the central government and the municipal government unify criteria to seek the solutions that the city needs, above all, because the government is focused on the development of the sectors of the Santiago province.
Meanwhile, Vice Minister Nelson Colón said that the Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención, has instructed to socialize the works that some sectors demand and that are for the well-being of citizens. At the end, a video was presented in which what will be the new entrance to the city is projected from now on, as well as the technical and structural explanations that the work will entail.
