The Minister of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), Deligne Ascención, reported that the government is developing more than 600 construction projects throughout the country.
Ascención highlighted the importance of the construction sector in the reactivation of the post-pandemic economy, in the recovery and creation of new jobs, in the social transformation generated by investment in road infrastructure.
“At the same time, we are working on the implementation of a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, with an extensive program of accessibility and asphalting of streets and contents in all the municipalities of Greater Santo Domingo, with an investment of more than 500.00 million dollars,” he said. .
The official said that the ambitious investment plan began with a program of paving, signaling and repairing the main highways, avenues, elevated roads, bridges, streets and local roads, throughout the national territory, in coordination with the mayor’s offices.
The information was offered by Ascención at the XVII Latin American Democracy and Development Summit, which is being held at the Foreign Ministry from today until the 10th.
He explained that the MOPC develops a policy of high interest with the importance of the construction sector in the reactivation of the post-pandemic economy, in the recovery and creation of new jobs.
He said that this vision is contained in the government program of President Luis Abinader and is part of the execution of road works and buildings at the national level.
