The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) took action in response to a citizen complaint regarding a critical point located on 15th Street between the towns of Río Abajo and Parque Lefevre.
To address this situation efficiently, the MOP deployed specialized personnel along with technical equipment from Metrovial and the support of the Communal Boards of Río Abajo and Parque Lefevre, including shovels, backhoes and mechanical compactors.
Engineer Manuel Tejada, director of the MOP for Central Panama, confirmed that “after receiving the complaint from citizen Ernesto Fields on July 9, through the National Directorate of Strategic Communication of the MOP, personnel from the Metrovial division went to the site and diligently and following the guidelines of Minister José Luis Andrade, on July 12 we proceeded to carry out the pertinent evaluations and proceed with the repair of the hole on 15th Street,” said Tejada.
At this point, cleaning work was carried out in the deep hole, placement of filling materials, select and base layer.
Following this work, asphalt profiling material was placed for a better rolling finish and finally Jersey-type concrete barriers were placed for the safety of the residents of the area.
The MOP team completed these repairs to provide safety and well-being to both residents and local businesses.
“The safety and quality of life of citizens are our priorities,” said Tejada. “We are committed to keeping our roads in optimal condition, responding effectively to the concerns of the community,” he added.
The MOP thanks Telemetro Reporta for reporting this complaint and for the collaboration and timely reporting of citizens, highlighting the importance of citizen participation in the maintenance and improvement of urban infrastructure.
