The Minister of Public Works, Rafael Sabonge, reported this Friday, January 13, that the Final Technical Report, Specifications and Contract for the first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project in history, for the Rehabilitation and Maintenance by Standards, have already been approved. of the East Pan-American Highway.
Sabonge assured that, now, 14 pre-qualified companies will be able to bid on this project to invest 283 million dollars in this important highway in our country.
He added that more than 2,000 hours have been dedicated to this study, which in his opinion ensures the protection of the interests of the State, a correct distribution of risks and the bankability of the PPP contract.
The 246-kilometer state highway tender is essential for the socioeconomic development of the communities in East Panama, Darién and the Comarcas.
Specifically, this work, which contemplates a private investment of more than B/.280 million, will benefit residents from Chepo, Cañitas and Agua Fría to Yaviza, in the province of Darién.
