The 0-2 win gives Rayados, who lead Tuzos del Pachuca by three points

The Rayados del Monterrey defeated this Thursday by 0-2 to the Atlas and assumed leadership of the Clausura 2022 Mexican soccer tournament upon reaching 15 points, three more than the champions Tuzos del Pachuca, second in the table. On matchday six, Rogelio Funes Mori and Alfonso González scored for Rayados. The Atlas fell from ninth to tenth place with seven points.
In the first half, both teams had chances to score. In the 18th minute, the Colombian John Stefan Medina smashed a ball into the post and in the 41st, Funes Mori did the same. A post also prevented an Atlas goal in the 20th minute, when the Argentine Julio Furch sent a ball to the crossbar.
In the second half, the Rayados took over the match and sealed the score. In a corner kick, Luis Romo gave an assist to Funes Moriwho before the departure of the Colombian goalkeeper Camilio Vargas defined the 0-1 in minute 60. The forward was the protagonist again in minute 63, when after Vargas stopped him from a header, he put a pass to gonzalez, who at an empty goal achieved 0-2. Atlas had a clear opportunity in minute 71, in a corner kick that ended with a shot with the head of Colombian Julián Quiñones that was saved by Argentine goalkeeper Esteban Andrada.
Two hours earlier, the Lion thrashed by 0-3 to the White Roosters from Queretaro at the start of the sixth day. The matches will resume this Friday with the visit of Mazatlán FC to Puebla and San Luis to Tijuana. On Saturday, the Águilas del América will host Necaxa, the UANL Tigres will host the UNAM Pumas, Juárez FC will host Santos Laguna and the Tuzos will host Chivas del Guadalajara. The matches will end on Sunday with Toluca-Cruz Azul.
