Santo Domingo.- After the collapse of one of the walls of the Boca de los Ríos dam being built in Santiago Rodríguez, the Emergency Operations Center (COE) issued this Friday a red alert for the Montecristi province due to the threat of possible floods.
The director of COERetired General Juan Manuel Méndez, explained that due to the situation, an accelerated discharge of water is being generated by the Guayubincito River, in Montecristi, which could cause flooding, especially in the communities of Martín García, El Pósito, Guayubin, Castañuelas and Palo Verde. .
According to Méndez, the alert decision was made due to the report issued by the Dams and Reservoirs Committee of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI) and the Dominican Hydroelectric Generation Company (EGEHID).
