In his homily during the celebration of the Christmas mass, Sergio Gualberti, Monsignor Emeritus of Santa Cruz, rcommemorated the birth of Jesus Christ and urged the believing population to renew their commitment to life of every human being, but also of all creation, for this reason he asked the faithful to leave resentments, overcome prejudices and work together for the common good and to become peacemakers
“Let’s think about how many attacks (there are) just in our country against life and against the creation of nature. Let us build a world of solidarity, just and in peace, since we are all beloved children of God and brothers among us, without any distinction”, said the religious.
He highlighted the urgency of bringing the commitment tol forgiveness of reconciliation and love in the country and with this commitment to seek for Bolivia to be a home for all “especially if we respond to the basic needs of all and take care of the non-renewable goods of creation.”
“We must commit ourselves to reflect all physical and moral rules to put aside resentments, grudges, intolerances and personal interests, overcome prejudices and divisions, and work together for the common good of all,” he said.
He maintained that peace is the gift that Jesus brings us, “the prince of peace and not just any peace but his peace, the fruit of his love and dedication to humanity.”
“Every time at mass we say it before communion: Peace I leave you, my peace I give them, let us welcome their peace so that we can also become peace operators,” he said.
Continuing with his message, he said that this commitment is particularly urgent in the country, which is in continuous “confrontations and upheavals.” “Bolivia will be a home for everyone if we respond to basic needs of all and we take care of the non-renewable goods of creation”, he pointed out.
