The Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalvevalued the arrest of Ernesto Llaitulson of the leader of the Arauco Malleco Coordinator (CAM), Hector Llaitul. Likewise, he indicated that the Government is a plaintiff in the crimes with which it is charged: frustrated homicide and arson.
Let us remember that the Investigative Police (PDI) arrested Llaitul in Tirúa, Biobío region, this Wednesday -at about 7:30 p.m.- along with Stephen Riquelme Y Ricardo Delgado -one of them in Quidico-. Subsequently, police officers apprehended Edward Cornejo in the community of Los Angeles.

“These arrests take place within the framework of an investigation carried out by the Public Ministry for events that occurred on September 9, 2021, in an event that occurred near the city of Los Angeles, where there was an arson attack on a forestry truck and there was also an attack with firearms on drivers of forestry trucks,” Monsalve commented.
“The Government is part of this cause, there was a presentation of a complaint through the Presidential Delegation of the Biobío region in February 2022,” added the Undersecretary of the Interior.
Monsalve indicated that the Government will be present at the detention control hearing, which will take place tomorrow, according to the Biobío Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
Ernesto’s arrest occurred a week after his father’s, which took place on August 24 in the Cañete district. That arrest occurred within the framework of an investigation by the Ministry of the Public, initiated in 2020 after the then Government filed a complaint under the State Security Law.
The Temuco Guarantee Court decreed the following day, on August 25, the precautionary measure of preventive detention for the leader of the CAM. It was formalized for violations of the State Security Law, violent usurpation, armed attacks against authority and simple theft.
