A man who was wanted for allegedly killing a citizen, wounding three other people and other criminal acts committed on different dates in the National District, was shot dead after shooting members of the Criminal Investigations Department (dicrim) of the Policewhich located it in a sector of the province of Pedernales.
Preliminary reports identify the deceased today as Alex Rivas, alias Moñongo, 19, who was a native of Santo Domingo.
According to these same reports, Rivas, who was wanted by means of several arrest and driving warrants, was located Tuesday afternoon by the uniformed officers on José Francisco Peña Gómez street in the Barrio Nuevo Amanecer sector of the La Cuarenta de Pedernales neighborhood.
They point out that after noticing the presence of the Dicrim members, he allegedly fired shots at them, who were forced to repel the attack, resulting in Rivas with the wounds that caused their death.
Rivas fired at the uniformed officers with a 38-caliber revolver, number FIM493J, which is in the possession of the police authorities of the aforementioned province.
Among the crimes charged while alive by Rivas are the shooting death of Mr. Dante Damián Parra Hilario and for causing gunshot wounds to named Tavares Linares, Lissani Chantal and Mrs. Francesca Pérez Ortiz, events that occurred on December 28, 2022, in the La Fe sector of the National District, in the company of some such Pocholo, El Gordo and Ariel Munino.
In addition, he was persecuted for abusing minors, stripping citizens of firearms, illegal carrying of weapons, among other crimes that violate different articles of the Dominican Penal Code.
The body was taken to the Elio Fiallo de Pedernales hospital and then deposited in the morgue of this health center.
