Likewise, they said that those infected are complying with the protocol measures in their respective homes since their cases are mild episodes that do not represent a greater risk for which they have to be quarantined in the Ramón de Lara Military Teaching Hospital as has been done. in previous cases of the disease.

It is recalled that despite the number of detected cases of monkeypox in the country, the authorities maintain that it is not necessary to be alarmed by the presence of the disease in the national territory, however, they call on the population to maintain the necessary health measures to prevent contagion.
However, in the Dominican Republic there have already been cases originating in the national territory, not only imported cases, as the infections began in the middle of this year when the first monkeypox picture was detected in the nation.
Likewise, the authorities expressed their concern about the cases of cholera that have occurred in Haiti and that could occur in the Dominican Republic if the necessary controls are not applied, for which they called on the population to avoid the consumption of food and beverages that they do not know their origin or if they were treated or not with the correct procedure before being consumed.
